UN WELL

UN WELL

We've all learnt a thing or two from the year that just was and while everyone seems quick to exhale 2020 and inhale 2021, I am wary that the year ahead will require the same amount of patience, unlearning and conscious living that 2020 seemed to be preparing us for. If I have learnt anything form the tumultuous year of 2020 it is simply this, we were all unwell.

REAL BRIDE HARRIET ROYLE

REAL BRIDE HARRIET ROYLE

The year 2020 certainly had its way with the wedding industry and our beautiful Bride Harriet felt it all - the anxiety, the shifting dates and guest lists, even the potential cancellation as Sydney saw its second wave of lockdowns, yet she maintained her positive spirits, they would get married either way and she would do it in The Bec gown. Nothing could get in the way of this absolutely picturesque backdrop, you'd be forgiven if you thought this wedding took place in the far away lands of the Scottish Highlands. Yet Harriet married the love of her life on her parents' breathtaking property in Wollombi.

REAL BRIDE SHALINI RAJAKARUNA

SHALINI / was a dream right from the start. One of those voices that is just as real in email as it is in real life - it felt like we knew each other by the time she was standing face to face with us in the studio. She had her eye well and truly on our lace tulle Sandon bodice with the silk faille Eden skirt. The first Bowie Bride to pair this duo up was especially important for us all, as we waited impatiently for her to emerge from the dressing room.

REAL BRIDE SARAH PHILLIPS

SARAH / was all about the timeless and effortless details of bridal.
She was after a fashion-infused, understated elegance for her day. She found Bowie and we hit it off., Talking about all things fashion and luxe details. Sarah and I met personally in Perth where she tried on the dress of her dreams, creating the very first silk on silk combo that would prove to become our Bowie signature piece!

Life in Isolation

Life in Isolation

It's been a colossal year so far - not that I need to tell you, we were in it together and we still are... Losing baggage I didn't realise I was carrying and truly discovering just how fast I have been traveling the last few years. It was a welcome reality check that I didn't quite believe I needed. Initial resistance of lockdowns and 'stillness' was quickly met with appreciation and gratitude- despite the widespread devastation and tragedy, we have found a way to grow in it. Using this moment in History to check ourselves and re-write the future, one for Bowie Rae and the world around us.
