face of Bowie Rae and Supermodel human inside and out, it was an absolute dream come true to make this vision not only a Bowie Bride but our first one yet, and way to kick it off with a bespoke version of our beloved Sandon bodice and Eden skirt.
While Bec was happy with the originals, I simply had to create a custom gown for her. The radiance she brings into any room is second to none, and that is simply because she is a model human in every way. It was an honour and a privilege for Bowie Rae to recreate the Sandon and Eden for Rebecca as she married the love of her life Taj Burrows, pro-surfer and father to their gorgeous daughter, Bella.
Rebecca and I worked closely together to source the perfect fabrics and tell Her own love story. It was the easiest experience working with someone else as a designer, we were so streamlined and in sync. In the end we had created something so incredibly beautiful, personal and absolutely unforgettable, "you made my dream wedding dress".
The 3D pearl beaded lace was hand cut and sewn along the tulle bodice, spilling onto the waistband of the skirt. The bodice only lined in a moonstone coloured tulle that complimented the heavy white pearled lace, as well as the pearl coloured Silk Mikado skirt (also fully lined in silk mikado). The body and texture of the skirt moves weightlessly against her, making this gown the perfect dress for the dance floor.
It's no wonder Rebecca's dream day and dress made it into the latest edition of Vogue Brides Australia. Set in the picturesque Rottnest Island in WA, every detail married up so well, in the end it was nothing short of perfection. If you take anything away from this dream bride, let it be this: it only gets complicated, messy and hard when you are trying to create something other than yourself.
